AONB Grants 2017/18

North Devon Coast AONB small grants - Sustainable Development Fund 2017/18 NOW OPEN

The North Devon Coast AONB small grant scheme is open to applications for projects to start from April 2017 onwards. Grants are available for new projects from individuals, groups, organisations and businesses. Projects should help to deliver the Management Plan objectives and priorities for the North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There are two themes for this year, but projects addressing any aspect of the Plan are welcome:-

'The Historic Environment' could support survey and research work, archaeological explorations, restoration work or community engagement and learning about our natural and built heritage.

'Health and Wellbeing' could support communities and voluntary groups to encourage access to the AONB area, pilot new activities within the AONB area to improve people's health and wellbeing or provide information to locals and visitors to raise awareness of opportunities and places in the AONB.

Grants range from £100 to £5,000 and need to be spent by February 2018. Projects need to show local support, in-kind contributions of time and resources, and cash match funding for larger or business projects.

Full guidance, applications forms and the Management Plan are available on the AONB website www.northdevon-aonb.org.uk/our-work/grants<http://www.northdevon-aonb.org.uk/our-work/grants> as well as a map of the AONB's coastal area.

Internet users are now getting used to the website and I have been delighted to exhibit pictures, advertise events, and pass on messages. I am able to see that these articles are being viewed which gets the message out far and wide.

I would love to see this gain momentum during 2018. What I'm really keen to get is your recipe contributions. To be honest, with the exception of one early one, during this year they've all been mine - which must be getting a bit boring. So send them in please. Use the link, mail me on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (no direct link into this address from here) or simply ring me on 01237 451193. If you only have paper copy it doesn't matter - if you want to go into publication on this site, we can make it happen together.

Have a fantastic Christmas everyone. Thank you for your help in getting this off the ground in 2017 - it is actually coming up to it's first birthday!
